So you are ready to submit your article. Great! Get started on the right path choosing the right categories from 364 niche categories, to target your exact audience. You can select up to 3 categories for your article.
Choose wisely—picking the correct categories can make a world of
difference in your results. If you try to squeeze your article into a
category that is not appropriate, your article is not likely to be
published.
To increase the chances of having your article picked up, you have to think like a publisher.
Imagine that you are looking for articles for your newsletter, e-zine
or website. Ask yourself if you would look for this particular article
under the category you’ve chosen. If not, you might be choosing the
wrong category.
Some Common Problems
There are some pretty common categorization errors:
The Family category is often used as a dumping ground for articles ranging from articles more properly categorized under "Health", "Home" or - believe it or not - "Pets & Animals" And while Holiday articles are very popular with publishers writing about festivities and celebrations, sometimes people mistakenly post Travel or Vacation-Oriented articles under this category.
Recipe articles must include information about food preparation, not recipes for making your own wood glue or building a recipe box. E-Learning and Education categories are often misused, because Authors believe that teaching through an article makes the article about E-Learning or Education. Unless you're teaching about E-Learning or Education, please put your article in another category. And, of course, the Newsletter category is about creating and publishing newsletters…not simply articles you want included in a newsletter. Simply promoting a business does not qualify the article for the Business category. Using the internet to market your product does not mean that the article belongs in the Internet Marketing category.
